Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading national architecture, engineering and interior design firm, announced today that it will design a new 152,000-square-foot distribution center for H.T. Hackney, one of the largest wholesale distributors in the United States. The facility will consist of approximately 130,000 square feet of distribution and storage space, 14,000 square feet of freezer/refrigerated storage space and more than 6,500 square feet of administrative office space. The distribution center will be constructed on a 29-acre site in Milton, Florida.
“We look forward to working with GS&P on the design of our new facility,” stated Dean Ballinger, vice president and COO of H.T. Hackney. “Not only are the locations of our distribution centers strategic, the efficiency with which they are designed plays a vital role in our ability to efficiently service our customers.”
“Utilizing our experience in designing industrial facilities for companies within the food and beverage industry, our team will work with H.T. Hackney to develop a comprehensive design solution for their newest distribution center to ensure that H.T. Hackney meets their regional operational goals,” stated Ket West, project manager, Gresham, Smith and Partners.
The new distribution center will be constructed with an architectural precast concrete exterior and a steel framed structure. The design is anticipated to be completed in April 2008. No date has been set for the groundbreaking.
