GS&P’s Srinivas Jalla to Discuss Innovative On-Call Delivery Model for Public Utilities

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that Senior Vice President Srinivas Jalla, P.E., PMP, co-authored Building an Effective On-Call Delivery Model to Improve Equipment Availability, a manuscript that provides a template for municipalities to build an adaptable on-call delivery model. Alongside co-author Richard Schoeck, P.E., PMP, Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources, Jalla will discuss the manuscript at the Water Environment Federation’s Utility Management Conference on Feb. 21 in San Antonio. The presentation will highlight the role GS&P played in developing and implementing an innovative on-call delivery model to meet Gwinnett County’s maintenance and rehabilitation needs.

GS&P Completes Expansion and Renovation at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces the completion of an extensive renovation at HCA Virginia’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, aimed at better serving the hospital’s women and children patients. GS&P’s design includes more than 60,000 square feet of renovated space and a 20,000-square-foot expansion, including a dedicated entrance and lobby, additional Labor and Delivery rooms (L&D) and a state-of-the-art Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The consolidation of the NICU, relocation of postpartum rooms, conversion of the 4th floor into gynecology and new L&D rooms provide the additional capacity and operational efficiency needed to serve the community.

GS&P to Provide Planning Services for North Carolina Community

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that the firm has been selected by Union County to provide engineering and planning services for two projects in Union County, N.C. The firm will develop an area plan for Union County and the town of Indian Trail. Additionally, GS&P will conduct a corridor study in the town of Marshville. Both projects support Union County’s goals of improving multimodal accommodations while enhancing economic development.

GS&P-Led Improvements at Tampa International Airport Get Passengers on Their Way

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces the completion of the new Rental Car Center and SkyConnect Automated People Mover (APM) at Tampa International Airport (TPA), a cornerstone of TPA’s master plan improvements. The SkyConnect system includes 1.4 miles of guideway, which connects the Main Terminal to the brand-new, 2.6-million-square-foot Rental Car Center, as well as the GS&P-designed Economy Parking Garage. The SkyConnect people mover system and Rental Car Center will open to the public on February 14.

GS&P’s Jim Harding to Lead SEGD Webinar on Inclusive Airport Wayfinding

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that Jim Harding, SEGD, director of environmental graphics, will lead the Society for Experiential Graphic Design’s (SEGD) webinar on enhancing wayfinding for aging travelers and persons with disabilities on Feb. 8. Harding will discuss the findings from GS&P-led research documented in Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Guidebook 177, highlighting ways to create pedestrian wayfinding systems that assist aging travelers and persons with disabilities in traveling independently within airports.

GS&P-Led Access Study Supports Placemaking Initiative in Northwest Alabama

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces the completion of a successful access study for the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG), the City of Sheffield and the City of Tuscumbia. The GS&P project team assessed potential traffic impacts and recommended alternative routes, as well as roadway and intersection improvements, to increase accessibility to Inspiration Landing, a proposed mixed-use entertainment, shopping, event and residential development located along the banks of the Tennessee River that will honor the area’s rich music heritage.

Town of Collierville Looks to GS&P for Wastewater Solids Study

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that it will complete a study for the Town of Collierville, Tennessee, to assess options and make recommendations for the Shelton Road Wastewater Treatment Plant’s (WWTP) solids processing and handling systems. The firm will employ a systematic approach to analyze various technologies to expand capacity, optimize efficiency, and provide improved reliability and redundancy.

GS&P-Led Traffic Studies Lead to Safer Roadways in Northwest Florida

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce the completion of two traffic studies in northwest Florida. The firm analyzed an unsignalized intersection along State Route 61 in Leon County and conducted a speed study on Walton County’s State Route 81. The work was performed under the firm’s five-year on-call contract to provide traffic operations and access management consulting services for a variety of projects within the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District 3. The findings from each study will improve traffic operations and create safer roadway conditions for the surrounding communities.

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Jody Barksdale, P.E., ENV SP, senior vice president in the firm’s Water + Environment market, will present at the Resilient Utility Coalition Summit on Jan. 25 in Miami. The presentation, entitled “Resiliency and Sustainability – How Large Metropolitan Cities are Accepting the Challenge,” will explore the ways two large municipalities and a major U.S. airport are addressing critical infrastructure planning, design and construction needs while keeping resiliency and sustainability in mind.
