GS&P’s Jim Harding to Lead Course on Wayfinding for Aging and Disabled Travelers

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Jim Harding, SEGD, director of environmental graphics, will lead the Airport Consultants Council’s online training program on enhancing airport wayfinding for aging travelers and persons with disabilities on Jan. 18. Alongside Mark D.K. Adams, RCDD/NTS, principal systems manager at Burns Engineering, Inc., Harding will discuss the findings in Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Report 177, a continuation of wayfinding research that explores the complex navigational challenges faced by aging travelers and passengers with disabilities such as low vision or blindness, mobility limitations or problems with short-term memory. The duo will cover best wayfinding practices and principles outlined in the report, equipping industry professionals with the tools needed to promote independent travel at airports worldwide.

Sam Mehta Joins GS&P, Brings Over 30 Years of Aviation Environmental Experience

Gresham, Smith and Partners is pleased to announce that is has won a contract to design healthcare buildings for UF Health as part of the planned Wildlight community in Nassau County. GS&P will design the ambulatory services hub as well as the co-branded UF Health and YMCA wellness center. The architecture and its expression will support holistic community health, embrace Florida’s “Lowcountry” culture, and reflect UF Health’s advanced, quality care.

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces the completion of a new surgical unit at Baptist Medical Center Nassau. The firm designed the 29,500-square-foot addition, which expands and modernizes the campus’ confined surgical department. By relocating the existing surgery department, new opportunities for future improvements become available in the vacated space. The addition serves as the new public face for the campus and features updated signage to welcome patients and visitors. These improvements aim to enhance the patient experience, and support the health system’s commitment to quality care.

GS&P Selected to Design Biosolids Facility Upgrades at Florida Water Reclamation Facility

Gresham, Smith and Partners was recently selected by Pinellas County to provide engineering services for upgrades to the biosolids facilities at the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility. The facility is Pinellas County’s largest wastewater treatment facility and distributes an average of 33 million-gallon-per-day of reclaimed wastewater to residents and businesses, while also processing all of the county’s biosolids. The firm will evaluate current conditions and design a state-of-the-art biosolids dewatering system to enhance resource recovery and support the county’s sustainability goals.
