Attorney Josh Flowers Bolsters Gresham Smith’s Risk Management Team

Accomplished architect and attorney Josh Flowers, FAIA, NCARB, WELL AP is bringing his industry insights to join Gresham Smith’s Risk Management team.

Flowers brings experience as a general counsel and licensed architect to new role as senior risk manager and legal counsel. Previously, he served as in-house general counsel for HBG Design in Memphis, where he led contract drafting and negotiation, risk management and oversight of legal matters.

“Including risk management early in the process of business decisions and delivery of our professional services results in better outcomes for all stakeholders,” said Carl Munkel, director of Risk Management at Gresham Smith. “I’m thrilled to have someone with Josh’s industry experience on our team. He’ll provide additional expertise for bringing best practices to our market leaders and clients.”

Flowers is very active in the architecture industry, where he’s received a number of awards and contributed to the future of the architecture practice on a national level. In 2018, he was named an AIA Fellow. He recently served as the 2019 president of American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tennessee chapter, and he’s active with AIA nationally as a member of the AIA National Documents Committee. He’s also the 2019 recipient of the AIA Memphis Francis Gassner Award. He received Bachelor of Architecture and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Tennessee.
