GS&P-Designed Deicer Management System Wins Awards for Outstanding Design and Construction Safety

Engineering News-Record Recognizes Project at T.F. Green Airport

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces Engineering News-Record has recognized T.F. Green Airport’s (PVD) innovative deicer management system with two awards in its annual Best Projects competition for the New England region. GS&P planned, designed and provided construction administration services for the project in Warwick, Rhode Island, which won an Award of Merit in the Water/Environment category and a second Award of Merit for it exemplary safety record during construction.

“T.F. Green Airport’s new deicer management system features a smart, passive stormwater collection network and innovative treatment facility – one of only four like it in the world,” said, John Lengel, P.E., ENV SP, executive vice president and GS&P’s principal-in-charge. “We are proud of how this project provides the client consistent, affordable operating costs, helps passengers by limiting the amount of time aircraft must spend on the ground for deicing, and protects important local ecosystems. It has been a win-win for all stakeholders, and I congratulate the entire project team on this well-deserved recognition.”
