Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Annie Blissit, P.E., ENV SP, water resources engineer, was included in Engineering Georgia’s inaugural list of 100 Influential Women to Know. This list honors women of character, integrity and purpose who influence the design, growth and success of communities, businesses and projects, as well as mentor and volunteer their time and help create Georgia’s built environment.  Blissit was profiled in the January/February issue of the magazine.

“Annie is an exceptional role model for those involved in the engineering profession. Her energy and passion for engineering and support of the community is inspiring,” said Al Pramuk, chairman and chief executive officer, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “Annie continuously embraces opportunities, whether they are related to her own professional development, mentoring others, volunteering to advance the engineering field or supporting her community and helping those in need.”

Blissit provides engineering design services for municipal wastewater treatment plants and pump stations and has been instrumental in environmental management projects. Blissit is actively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Georgia Section and was named by the organization as 2017 Young Civil Engineer of the Year.  Engineering News-Record named her a 2017 Top Young Professional and she was recognized as a 2016 Young Professional of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). In 2016 and 2017 she participated in organized humanitarian trips with ASCE Georgia to provide engineering support and drinking water sampling in Nicaragua.

Engineering Georgia’s list includes founders, CEOs, principals and rising leaders. These women were recommended by peers, colleagues and the community and then reviewed by the Editorial Board. The list aims to provide a glimpse into the diverse, strong and growing number of women helping to shape Georgia’s engineering community.
