Greg Kern Joins Gresham Smith’s Transportation Team

Gresham Smith is excited to welcome Greg Kern, MBA, AICP, as a senior transportation planner and project manager. With three decades of experience in managing active transportation planning, PD&E, traffic analysis and public involvement, Greg will focus on developing innovative transportation strategies and concepts for communities and regional connectivity.

Throughout his career, Greg has served in a lead role on hundreds of projects and developed a passion for planning active transportation concepts. Working in both private sector and governmental agency projects across the country, he has an extensive background in PD&E/NEPA analyses, preliminary roadway concepts, transit planning, public outreach and interagency coordination, trails and pedestrian access, port freight planning and traffic impact studies. With the goal of building the multimodal planning practice, Greg will serve as a project manager and quality assurance officer.

“Greg is a recognized expert in multimodal transportation and land use planning and brings a wealth of technical knowledge to our team,” said Tyler Strickland, P.E., J.D., RSP1, Florida state transportation leader at Gresham Smith. “His broad experience and expertise in working with local government and State agencies will be beneficial in growing our planning services across Florida.”

Greg has extensive experience in public speaking engagements and presentations. He is a member of the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association. He received his bachelor of psychology from Princeton University and his master of business administration from the University of Central Florida. Outside of work, Greg enjoys fishing, kayaking, and cycling.
