Gresham Smith Adds Jacksonville Transportation Leader

Gresham Smith is excited to announce that Mario Dipola, P.E., PTOE, RSP1, has been hired as a senior project manager within the Transportation market’s roadway engineering group. With more than a decade of experience in project management, traffic operations and safety, Dipola will focus on growing the Transportation’s market practice in Northeast Florida.

Prior to joining Gresham Smith, he spent a decade at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in Districts 1 and 2, where he held roles such as district value engineer, consultant project manager and district safety engineer. He also led the traffic group for a local engineering firm in Northeast Florida for over two years.

“Mario brings a wealth of experience from his past roles as a consultant and as a senior leader with FDOT,” said Tyler Strickland, P.E., J.D., RSP1, Florida state transportation leader at Gresham Smith. “As our senior Transportation leader Jacksonville, he will be tasked with continuing to expand our footprint in Northeast Florida.”

Dipola received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida’s Burnett Honors College and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Outside of the office, he is active in the local community and his church. He currently serves as vice president for the Institute of Transportation Engineers’ First Coast Chapter, and he is a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization. He and his wife live with their three young children in Ponte Vedra Beach.
