Gresham Smith Announces Carbon Neutral Partnership with Material Bank

2 12 月, 2020

Gresham Smith is proud to announce the firm is a Carbon Neutral Partner with Material Bank, the world’s largest material marketplace. As part of the firm’s commitment to sustainability, this partnership grants Gresham Smith’s employees access to an array of environmentally friendly samples and materials that can be used in their designs.

“This partnership with Material Bank reinforces our dedication to sustainability in design,” said Michele McMinn, IIDA, WELL AP, LEED AP ID+C, EDAC, senior interior designer at Gresham Smith. “At Gresham Smith we live by our brand promise of Genuine Ingenuity, providing sustainable, innovative designs for our clients. We’re committed to minding our own Carbon footprint and firmwide participation in Material Bank’s Carbon neutral sampling program is part of that commitment.”

In early November, Material Bank announced all sample orders ship in 100% carbon neutral packaging. With more than 300 brands on a single site, Material Bank combines sample orders from multiple brands into a single box—eliminating the need for separate shipments and reducing wasteful energy, packaging, transportation and more. The patented Material Bank tray safely delivers material samples without the need for excess packaging materials such as peanuts and bubble wrap. The same tray converts into a return box, allowing unneeded samples to be sent back to a single location, at no cost, to be reused.
