Gresham Smith announces that Andy Lucyshyn, P.E., PTOE, has been promoted to Middle Tennessee Area Transportation Leader. He will lead operations, practice, growth strategy and business development for the firm’s Nashville-based Transportation group, in collaboration with East Tennessee Area Transportation Leader Jason Brady. Lucyshyn joined Gresham Smith in 2016 as a senior transportation engineer serving as the ITS Service Line Leader and Director of Intelligent Mobility working with clients to deliver innovative solutions throughout the Southeast.

“We want to be sure, through every phase of the Transportation market’s growth and success, that we’re leveraging the knowledge and talents of our leaders in the best way possible,” said Kent Black, P.E., executive vice president at Gresham Smith. “Andy has a great deal of operational expertise and is passionate about finding ways to help our Tennessee Transportation employees grow and thrive in their roles. He also has deep experience in many of the areas that are going to most strongly influence the trajectory of the transportation industry in the coming years, like intelligent mobility, connected and automated vehicles, active transportation, and design and planning within cities and communities. He’s the right fit for this position.”

“I’m eager to work more closely with our East Tennessee colleagues and identify new opportunities that will help us grow in the smartest, most sustainable way,” commented Lucyshyn. “And I want to keep improving on how we’re managing projects with our current clients and pinpoint our strengths and our challenges to help us do things even better. I believe the best way to achieve a new level of success is to prioritize professional development and elevate a team of leaders within our current staff, tapping into the resources we have available and giving them the tools to contribute to our market’s success in new ways. To me, my role is most importantly about helping our employees become better leaders and experts so that we continue to provide exceptional service to our clients.”

Lucyshyn has 27 years of experience in the transportation industry including serving as a technical advisor, program manager, business development leader and business operations manager.
