Gresham Smith is proud to recognize the construction completion of intersection improvements in the Winston Community in Douglas County, Ga. The Gresham Smith-designed project addresses safety concerns and improves the level of service at the intersection of US 78/SR 8 Bankhead Highway with Mann Road and Mason Creek Road/Post Road.

Post Road was realigned with Mason Creek Road / Mann Road and a new traffic signal and turn lanes were added at Bankhead Highway. The project provides an improved connection to and from I-20 to the south, and also includes vertical geometry improvements to address sight distance concerns.

“Our service to the Georgia Department of Transportation on this project is anticipated to improve safety, and will help make traffic at these intersections run more efficiently,” said Jody Braswell, P.E., Georgia state transportation leader, Gresham Smith. “We’re proud of our ongoing work to improve infrastructure across the state of Georgia.”

The project team also provided assistance with community outreach and right-of-way acquisition.
