Gresham Smith-Designed Intersection Improvements in Gwinnett County Completed
Gresham Smith is recognizing that intersection improvements have been finalized to add dual left-turn lanes and corresponding receiving lanes at Lawrenceville-Suwannee Road and SR-120 in Gwinnett County.
Gresham Smith designed traffic patterns to identify and address capacity deficiencies contributing to traffic congestion during peak hours. The firm also led preliminary plans, right of way plans, utility coordination, signal plans and final construction plans for the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation.
“Through our partnership with Gwinnett County DOT, we designed an intersection with additional capacity to keep up with increasing congestion,” said Sarah Blackburn, P.E., senior transportation engineer at Gresham Smith. “The local community should see a noticeable difference in traffic flow at this intersection going forward.”
