Gresham Smith Names Arlen Sandlin Kentucky State Transportation Leader

Gresham Smith is excited to announce that Arlen Sandlin, P.E., has been named Kentucky State Transportation Leader. Sandlin replaces Jim Brannon, P.E., who has been elevated to Market Vice President of Transportation beginning on Jan. 1, 2022.

Sandlin joined the firm earlier this year with nearly 25 years of experience in transportation engineering. Over his long career, he has worked in every Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) district on highway projects ranging from small urban developments to major arterials, interstate highways and complex interchanges.

In his new role, he will oversee the Transportation market’s award-winning portfolio in Kentucky, which includes a number of significant contracts with KYTC such as the statewide highway safety improvement program and the statewide utility management contact. Other major work includes:

A Hazard, Kentucky native, he is a lifelong Kentuckian and received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master of business administration from the University of Kentucky.
