Gresham Smith Selected for Bridge Maintenance Contract in Georgia

Gresham Smith is proud to be awarded an on-call contract to deliver statewide bridge maintenance engineering services, including repair and rehabilitation of existing bridges, for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The three-year contract is one of two on-calls awarded to consultants to provide repair and rehabilitation to existing bridges throughout the state of Georgia. It can be extended for up to five years.

“Safe, well-maintained bridges are a foundational transportation element to any agency, and this contract will allow GDOT to extend the life of many critical bridges,” said Jody Braswell, P.E., Georgia state transportation leader at Gresham Smith. “We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with GDOT and providing excellent service for this important project.”

Throughout the agreement, the firm will provide engineering and design services as needed, in support of the development of transportation facilities for GDOT. This includes highway construction, maintenance and operational support. Under the contract, the firm will perform bridge inspection services in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards, perform load testing services in accordance with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials guidelines, provide hydraulic services and manage plans and specifications for GDOT.
