Gresham Smith to Manage Right-of-Way Acquisition for City of East Point

25 11 月, 2019

Gresham Smith has begun work to acquire right of way for about 50 parcels at key intersections in downtown East Point that will allow for the city to make upgrades to bike and pedestrian infrastructure. The acquisition will take place at four intersections along Main Street and East Point Street near the MARTA station in the downtown core of the city.

Pre-acquisition activities, including review of the plans, meetings with property owners, property inspection and appraisal, are underway. After the initial planning activities are complete, a negotiation to close will begin where property owners are given offers. The project is expected to be complete no later than April 2021.

“Gresham Smith is a leader in right-of-way acquisition management,” said Jody Braswell, P.E., Georgia state transportation leader at Gresham Smith. “We’re excited to be a part of this project that will result in important infrastructure upgrades to make downtown East Point more friendly for pedestrians and bikers.”
