Gresham Smith Wins Six Awards at IIDA North Florida’s Design Gala

May 6, 2019

Gresham Smith is proud to announce it won six awards from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA)’s North Florida Chapter at the organization’s Illuminate Design Awards Gala earlier this month. Judges honored the firm’s interior design projects for excellence in innovation, overall solution, and implementation of design through the use of materials, color and light. The awards spanned the corporate, healthcare and branding sectors and included small, medium and large categories – along with the Judge’s Choice Award.

“A huge congratulations to our Jacksonville-based interior designers who represented Gresham Smith so well this year in the IIDA North Florida Design Awards,” said Al Pramuk, chairman and chief executive officer at Gresham Smith. “Bringing home awards for such a wide variety of project types and industries shows the strength of our multi-market, multi-discipline practice. We are grateful to our clients for the opportunity to work on such tremendous projects and appreciative of our peers who recognized the quality of our work.”

Gresham Smith accepted the following awards:

Healthcare Large: Universal Health Services/Foundations Recovery Network Mount Dora – Seven Waters
Gresham Smith was the lead designer for an extensive interior renovation of UHS/FRN Mount Dora’s Drug Recovery Center. The 19,000-acre campus was home to seven existing facilities with 124 beds. The new spaces consist of an administration building, therapy building, activity building and four residential buildings. Because of the center’s proximity to seven nearby lakes, each of the seven facilities incorporates unique attributes of the lakes into its signage, artwork, and color scheme. By tying elements of each lake into the buildings, the design supports consistent, familiar branding with a connection to nature and local landscape.

Corporate Medium: iVenture Solutions Jacksonville Office
Named one of Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing private companies, this tech start-up was quickly outgrowing their office space. After deciding to move into their own building, the owner called on the entering firm to create a flexible workspace with an energetic, collaborative office environment. By understanding the company culture, the design team was able to create an authentic, enjoyable experience that engages employees.

Healthcare Medium: University of Florida Health Wildlight Ambulatory Care Hub
The Ambulatory Care Hub creates a health-focused community with a unique building and site design that supports wellness and a relaxing patient experience. The greenfield project includes “super urgent care” with enhanced imaging capability, diagnostic imaging and lab suite on the first floor. On the second floor, UF will provide a full spectrum of primary care, pediatric, psychiatry, OBGYN and dental services. The project is designed to allow for telemedicine and telepsychiatry, as well as the use of technology for patient education.

Corporate Small – Fanatics New York City Office
When a global leader in officially licensed sports merchandise looked to create cohesive workspaces across its multiple office locations, it called on Gresham Smith to bring its vision to life. With the goal of creating a dynamic, collaborative work environment for staff while celebrating the spirit of sports and sports fans, the project team used a refined industrial aesthetic to design the 21st floor office space, keeping a seamless “game day” experience in mind.

Branding Excellence: iVenture Solutions – Jacksonville, Clearwater, and Orlando Offices
Gresham Smith provided branding services for iVenture’s Jacksonville, Clearwater and Orlando offices, designing concepts that could be utilized across multiple office locations to create a cohesive design. The final spaces include a variety of branded elements that tell the iVenture story, including interactive maze walls, logo accent walls, display walls, and artful displays of the company’s core values on branded badges.
