Gresham Smith’s April Kane to Speak at Autodesk University

September 22, 2022

Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Electrical Designer April Kane will speak at Autodesk University 2022 in New Orleans from September 27-29. Kane will host a class that explores a case study where she served as an early adopter for software owned by Schneider Electric that simplifies the electrical design process. Below is a summary of her class.

Re-circuit the MEP workflow: Analytical Elements and BIM system modeling

Presented by April Kane, Electrical Designer at Gresham Smith, and Nichole Boucher, Product Owner at Schneider Electric on Tuesday, September 27 at 3:00 PM CST.

Electrical distribution system modeling, analysis and calculations are often accomplished in a disjointed fashion, making it difficult to manage project changes, and with limited ability for BIM integration. Adopting a new workflow to avoid this can be tricky, and often there is resistance to taking the plunge required to re-tool the workflow. This presentation will focus on a case study with Gresham Smith and what considerations and assessments the firm took before re-engineering its electrical schematic and conceptual design workflow.
