Gresham Smith’s Brian McKeehan Elected to ASCE Board of Direction

Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Brian McKeehan, P.E., a senior civil engineer in the firm’s Aviation market has been elected to serve a three year term on the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Board of Direction. In his role he will help guide the growth of the civil engineering profession across the United States. As part of this, he will work with the organization’s nine technical Institutes, which bring together volunteers from around the world to advance the profession’s technical, business and professional expertise.

His industry involvement provides national perspective on evolving design issues and helps him provide creative, quality solutions for our clients,” said Wilson Rayfield, AIA, LEED AP, executive vice president, Gresham Smith. “We are proud of Brian’s continued leadership within ASCE and his new role on the Board.”

McKeehan has volunteered his time with ASCE at the local and national levels. He previously served as president of the Transportation and Development Institute, one of the nine discipline-specific technical groups within ASCE. He has also served as a conference chair, technical committee chair, task committee chair and as a member on several technical and administrative committees. McKeehan worked on the 2013 and 2017 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, highlighting the critical need for investment in the built environment.

During his 14 years with Gresham Smith, McKeehan has played an integral role in the planning, design and construction management for aviation projects at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Richmond International Airport, Tampa International Airport and Fort Lauderdale International Airport. He has also lent his engineering expertise to a number of healthcare, transportation, industrial, and commercial projects.
