Gresham Smith’s George Dick Receives Outstanding Service Award from FWEA

Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that Water Resources Engineer George Dick, P.E., has been recognized by the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) with the 2019 Outstanding Service Award, which honors an individual for their dedication to and leadership within the organization and industry. Dick was honored at the Florida Water Resources Conference on April 16.

As a water resources engineer in the firm’s Water + Environment market, Dick assists with wastewater treatment facility design and rehabilitation, potable water treatment and biosolids projects throughout the southeast. Since joining Gresham Smith in 2015, he has worked on a variety of projects, including biosolids upgrades at Pinellas County’s South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility.

Dick is actively involved in FWEA and is currently serving as a member of the FWEA Biosolids committee, which provides technical education and professional development programs through seminars, workshops and access to experts in the field. Additionally, he is a member of the West Coast Chapter Steering Committee and the Student & Young Professional Committee. Dick was named the 2018 Young Professional of the Year by FWEA.

The Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA), founded in 1941, is one of the largest state-run wastewater associations in the United States. The organization promotes a clean and sustainable water environment while bringing professionals together through professional development and networking opportunities. FWEA is comprised of nine local chapters and five student chapters at state universities.
