Gresham Smith’s Jake Carpenter Appointed to Town of Harrisburg Planning Board

Gresham Smith announces that Jake Carpenter, P.E., a senior transportation engineer in the firm’s Charlotte office, has been appointed to the Town of Harrisburg Planning & Zoning Advisory Board. The Board offers insights and recommendations to help Town Council members make informed community and economic development decisions. Carpenter’s nearly 17 years of public and private sector transportation engineering and planning experience will provide valuable perspective for Council decisions benefiting and impacting the long-term vitality of the Charlotte, North Carolina suburb.

I believe this Planning & Zoning Advisory Board will play a strong role in helping Harrisburg continue to be a great place to live, work and play,” said Carpenter.

Carpenter will serve on the seven-member board for the remainder of a three-year term, helping make recommendations to the Town Council on rezoning requests, subdivision plans, general development proposals and amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance. He will also serve on the Board of Adjustment, which hears variance cases and conditional use permit requests.
