Gresham Smith’s Mike Sewell Re-elected to League of American Bicyclists Board

Gresham Smith is pleased to announce that Mike Sewell, P.E., LCI active transportation service line leader has been re-elected to the League of American Bicyclists’ National Board of Directors. Mike’s second three-year term will begin at the Annual Board Meeting in Washington, D.C. on October 23rd.

During Mike’s first term on the Board, he had the opportunity to represent the engineering and active transportation industry in a 2019 U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Highways and Transit hearing in titled, “Every Life Counts: Improving the Safety of our Nation’s Roadways.” He served as an expert witness giving oral testimony and answering questions from Congressional members about bicycle and pedestrian safety across the country in the U.S.

Mike is widely-recognized engineer and expert in the active transportation field. He uses his platform to strategize about planning and designing safe, comfortable and meaningful multimodal infrastructure, including Lexington, Ky,’s Town Branch Commons, Louisville Olmstead Parkways and the University of Kentucky Bicycle Master Plan. A daily bike commuter himself,, Mike has spent the past 20 years focused on complete streets and right-sizing roadways for all users.
