Gresham Smith Celebrates Golden Anniversary by Donating $50,000 to Nonprofits
Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that the firm marked its 50th anniversary, in part, by donating $50,000 to employee-chosen non-profit organizations. Fourteen nonprofits received donations as a result of the GS&P Golden Anniversary Giveback contest, while the remaining five organizations were selected by the Gresham, Smith and Partners’ Individual Volunteer Empowerment (GIVE) Committee, which supports the philanthropic endeavors of GS&P employees.
“Fifty years ago, Gresham, Smith and Partners was established with a commitment to serve the clients and communities in which we live and work,” commented Al Pramuk, chairman and CEO, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “We’re proud to celebrate our golden anniversary by going above and beyond our traditional annual giving and making additional contributions to 19 national and local organizations that are truly making a difference. These donations represent our ongoing pledge to create and support community vitality, not only through our design and planning work, but through the giving of volunteer time and resources.”
During the GS&P Golden Anniversary Giveback contest, teams throughout the firm worked together to create three-dimensional structures that commemorated GS&P’s 50th anniversary. The winners were determined by internal voting and “likes” on Facebook, with every entry receiving a donation for the team’s designated charity. The additional nonprofits that received donations from the GIVE committee were chosen due to staff involvement with the organizations.
Organizations that received funds include Daniel Kids, The Jericho House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, Unchained Movement, Thistle Farms, Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee, CURE Childhood Cancer, Water for People, the Florida A&M University and Florida State University College of Engineering’s American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter, Northlake Children’s Chorus and Music Academy, Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, The Children’s Home Network, Healing Hands International, Canopy Children’s Solutions, the American Heart Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Family Promise of Birmingham, Casa Inc. of Nashville and Renewal House of Nashville.
