Resiliency and Sustainability – How Large Metropolitan Cities are Accepting the Challenge
Presentation by Jody Barksdale, P.E., ENV SP

Many large cities in the United States are developing sustainability and resiliency programs that address critical infrastructure planning, design and construction needs for utility and transportation systems. In this presentation, Barksdale will discuss the progress of three large municipalities to provide resilient and sustainable infrastructure for water, wastewater and airport facilities. He will highlight Atlanta’s drive for energy net neutrality with renewable energy; energy management implementation at Dallas’s Southside Wastewater Treatment Plant; and resiliency planning at Boston’s Logan International Airport; giving attendees insight into driving resiliency.
