GS&P’s Jim Harding, SEGD, director of environmental graphics, is featured in PBS’s documentary series City in the Sky. The three-part series aims to help viewers understand the global aviation network, examining how airports and airlines around the world operate safely to accommodate more than 100,000 commercial flights daily. During the first episode, Harding takes viewers on a tour of GS&P-designed Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and explains how design creates natural wayfinding and keeps passengers moving through the airport intuitively.

“As our largest aviation project to date, the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is a great source of pride for our firm and the hundreds of people who worked on the project,” commented Harding. “It was both humbling and an honor to represent the entire design and construction team who invested so much in the project.”

The first episode, entitled “Departure,” aired on Feb. 8, while the second episode, “Airborne”, aired on Feb. 15. Episode three, “Arrival”, will air Feb. 22 at 10 p.m. EST on PBS. Click here to view all three episodes online, available through March 9.
