Gresham Smith is pleased to welcome John Davis, P.E., as a senior construction manager in the firm’s Water + Environment market. Based out of the firm’s Nashville office, John brings more than 30 years of construction management, project management, and civil engineering experience.

Prior to joining Gresham Smith, John served as construction manager and project manager on a variety of large-scale wastewater projects. He’s previously worked on projects throughout Arizona and most recently served as senior civil engineer supervisor at Guam Waterworks Authority, where he worked closely with Gresham Smith team members before joining the firm. John has an extensive background in wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and pumping stations, and is keen on delivering projects on time and within budget.

“John is the perfect addition to our growing Water + Environment team,” said Jeff Nash, P.E., Executive Vice President at Gresham Smith. “Given that we’ve worked with John on a few of our projects in Guam, he is well acquainted with our firm’s work and the members of our team. Not only is he an experienced civil engineer, but his attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure ensures high-quality project delivery for our clients.”

In his new role as senior construction manager, John will manage one of the firm’s largest Water + Environment projects at the Metro Nashville Water facility. John will oversee the modification of existing tankage at the facility in order to maximize flow and capacity at the Nashville wastewater facility.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech and his master’s degree in regional environmental planning from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and river running, as well as riding motorcycles.
