Linaea Floden Selected as Member of AIA Florida’s 2018 Class of Citizen Architects

Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Linaea Floden, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, an architect in the firm’s Tampa Healthcare studio, has been selected as a member of the American Institute of Architects Florida Chapter’s 2018 class of Citizen Architects. The annual award honors local architects who have helped shape their communities through service and civic engagement. Floden was recognized on February 5 during Legislative Day in Tallahassee, Florida.

She is an exceptional role model and truly embodies Gresham Smith’s promise of genuine ingenuity,” commented Al Pramuk, chairman and chief executive officer, Gresham Smith. “Whether she’s designing smart solutions for communities’ most vital institutions, guiding architects through the licensing process or teaching elementary school students about the profession, Linaea uses her talents to benefit others. Her commitment to her clients and community is inspiring and serves as an example for us all.”

Floden joined Gresham Smith in 2015 and has nearly four years of experience developing designs the improve the health of communities. A three-year member of AIA, she has served on the AIA Florida Board of Directors since 2015 as both the architect licensing adviser and the associate director at large. Floden is also involved with the Florida Foundation for Architecture’s Education in Architecture series, where she teaches fourth graders about architecture, as well as the Glazer Children’s Museum’s Exhibit Committee. Additionally, she has traveled with Engineering Ministries International to master plan a children’s hospital in Ethiopia, helping provide healthcare services in communities without easy access.
