GS&P Adds Senior Leader to Tampa Corporate+Urban Design Studio

Jose Castellanos Brings Nearly 30 Years of Architecture and Interior Design Experience

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Jose Castellanos, AIA, NCARB, has joined the firm as a senior vice president in the Tampa office. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in design and project management for corporate clients. His portfolio includes banking, retail, dining, hospitality, automotive dealerships/showrooms, multi-family residential and corporate office facilities. At GS&P, Castellanos will apply both his professional background and mentorship experience to support the strategic growth of the Tampa Corporate + Urban Design Studio through business development and staff development.

Prior to joining GS&P, Castellanos served as vice president/managing architect at RRW Architects, AIA, Inc., in Tampa. He led strategic growth efforts, managed a broad range of large, complex projects, and contributed to firm operations and marketing efforts. Castellanos also recently completed a 16-year tenure at Sanford-Brown College in Tampa, where he was an adjunct professor in the Interior Design program. His current industry and community involvement initiatives include serving as an AIA representative for the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) School Visiting Team, mentor for the AIA Tampa Bay Chapter and mentor for the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Tampa Bay. Castellanos was also a team member with The Council for Interior Design Accreditation in 2015. In 2010, he won the Hillsborough County Planning Commission’s Community Design Award of Excellence.
 
Castellanos is both a licensed architect and licensed interior designer in the State of Florida, and he holds active memberships with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Fluent in English and Spanish, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology and Master of Science degree in Construction Management from Florida International University, as well as a Master of Architecture degree from the University of South Florida.
