Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Tommy Allen, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior project manager in Nashville. He brings more than 30 years of diverse experience in project management and mechanical engineering within the industrial and manufacturing sectors. He will focus on elevating the complete scope of GS&P’s project management services, offering insight into both process and production for clients.

“Tommy is a tremendous addition to GS&P and further strengthens our project management and client service capabilities,” said Ken Zyga, P.E., executive vice president at Gresham, Smith and Partners. “He brings solid leadership, impressive organization, clear vision and exceptional knowledge of the project delivery process from beginning to end, and he leverages his great skills to the benefit of the most important members of our project teams – our clients.”

“I began my career working in a manufacturing plant, as many mechanical engineers do, and it was immediately clear that I belonged in the industrial sector,” commented Allen. “It gave me a deep understanding of how facilities and equipment work together, and when you get it right, you set manufacturers on a path to success. Solving those puzzles is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. We start with a client’s goals and ideas and ultimately generate construction documents that get them where they need to go. I look forward to working with my colleagues at GS&P to tackle our client’s complex projects.”

Before joining GS&P, Allen served in project management roles at several engineering firms in the Nashville area. Additionally, he led engineering in the  Nashville office of Australian company Energy Developments, Inc., in support of the production of green electricity. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
