GS&P Announces Mark Gillette as Senior Project Manager

New Leader to Focus on Roadway and Drainage Design in Tampa

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Mark Gillette, P.E., has joined GS&P as a senior project manager in the firm’s Tampa office. Gillette brings more than 26 years of experience managing roadway design, drainage design, traffic engineering and construction projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other local municipalities. At GS&P, he will manage roadway design and drainage projects and support business development efforts.

“Mark has managed many projects for clients throughout the state, providing roadway and drainage design services,” said Tyler Strickland, P.E., J.D., GS&P State Transportation Leader – Florida. “His knowledge of FDOT’s districts as well as other agencies and communities equips him with valuable depth of experience. He is a talented project manager with a passion for the best infrastructure solutions. We are glad to welcome Mark to our Florida engineering team.”

Gillette previously served as a senior engineer for Element Engineering Group and Stanley Consultants, both in Tampa. His roadway expertise includes complete roadway plans, horizontal and vertical alignments, cross section design, pavement design and reports and utility coordination. His drainage design expertise includes stormwater treatment systems, storm drain and ditch conveyance systems, floodplain design, permitting through several water management districts as well as the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and U.S. Corps of Engineers, side drains and cross drains, inlet capacity and spread, curb return profiles and special gutter grades. He has been a project manager and project engineer on numerous projects throughout FDOT Districts 1, 5 and 7 as well as in Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Manatee County, Sumter County and the City of Tampa. Gillette earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts–Lowell and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Saint Anselm College.
