GS&P Land Planning Staff Elected to Local ASLA Leadership Positions 

Jared Kaelin Elected President, Jon Henney Elected Trustee of Kentucky Chapter

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that Senior Landscape Architect Jon Henney, ASLA, PLA, AICP-CUD, and Designer Jared Kaelin, ASLA have been elected to leadership positions within the Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Henney will serve as the chapter’s trustee and will represent the state at the national level. Kaelin will serve as the chapter’s president and will work to promote landscape architecture by organizing special events and attending council meetings and national conferences.

Henney joined GS&P in 1999 and has more than 30 years of experience in community planning and design. A 35-year member of the American Society of Landscape Architects Kentucky Chapter, he served as president three times, most recently from 2013 to 2014. Henney also serves on the Board of Directors for Louisville’s Downtown Development Review Overlay and as Trustee for the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
 
Kaelin joined GS&P in 2015 and serves the firm as an urban designer and landscape designer with a focus on planning, urban design and transportation design. In 2015, he received an ASLA National Honor Award in Community Service for his work on the Ghana International Design Studio: Playtime in Africa Project. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Kaelin remains involved with his former program by supporting the college’s community-centered designs. He has also spearheaded several Louisville initiatives, including guiding Louisville Central Community Center’s vision for The Boulevard (West of Ninth) and the American Institute of Architects Sustainable Design Assessment Team.
 
Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the professional association for landscape architects in the United States, representing more than 15,000 members. The Society’s mission is to advance landscape architecture through advocacy, communication, education and fellowship.
