GS&P Transportation Leaders Inducted into University of Tennessee Civil and Environmental Engineering Hall of Fame

Marshall Elizer and Bill Moore Recognized for Contributions to Engineering Profession

Gresham, Smith and Partners is proud to announce that Senior Vice Presidents of Transportation Marshall Elizer, Jr., P.E., PTOE, and Bill Moore, P.E., were inducted into The University of Tennessee’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors alumni who have made significant contributions to the engineering profession and have positively reflected on the University of Tennessee’s Tickle College of Engineering. Elizer and Moore were recognized at an awards banquet on April 28.

They have made tremendous contributions to the success of GS&P and our clients and exemplify the firm’s dedication to stewardship in the communities we live and work in.”
 
Elizer graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Engineering in 1974 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1989. He spent 22 years providing transportation and engineering services to local governments in Tennessee, Texas, Colorado and California before joining GS&P in 1997. In his current role,  Elizer combines his extensive knowledge of the transportation market with a focus on transportation policy, technical guidance and business development. He is actively involved with the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Public Works Association, the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals and Smart Growth America. He also serves as a board member on the University of Tennessee Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s Board of Advisors.
 
Moore graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1969 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1974. After graduation he joined the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) where he worked for 36 years, retiring as chief engineer.  Moore joined GS&P in 2004 and currently provides oversight and constructability review for GS&P’s Florida Transportation operations. He is a member of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional engineers. Moore is a past chairman of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Traffic Engineering Committee and a past Transportation Committee Chairman for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a board member on the University of Tennessee Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s Board of Advisors. He currently serves as Chairman of the Tennessee Infrastructure Alliance.
