Gustavo Alfonso Joins GS&P’s Miami Healthcare Studio

Senior Architect To Enhance Healthcare Practice, Client Relationships and Staff Development

Gresham, Smith and Partners is pleased to announce Gustavo Alfonso has joined the firm’s Miami healthcare studio as a senior architect. Alfonso brings 30 years of design experience in a variety of facility types including healthcare, mixed-use and commercial. As a project manager, he will be focused on enhancing the client experience through exceptional project delivery while serving as a resource to support the continued growth and development of GS&P staff.

Alfonso most recently served as a project manager at Mateu Architecture in Miami. Prior to that position, he was a project manager at Perkins + Will for six years. There he developed and executed several projects at Miami Children’s Hospital including design support for a six-story, 200,000 square-foot Intensive Care Unit and an emergency department expansion. He also provided construction contract administration for a 850,000 square-foot, 36-story mixed-use facility. 

A Miami resident for more than 40 years, Alfonso is a graduate of the University of Miami where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He is a registered architect in the State of Florida and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
