Jaime Abreu Joins GS&P’s Water and Environment Practice

Senior Engineer to Support Market Growth in the Miami Area

Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Jaime Abreu, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior water resources engineer. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in planning, design and bid preparation for a variety of water and wastewater projects. At GS&P, Abreu will support the growth of the firm’s Water and Environment market in the Miami area, focusing on project execution while leading business development initiatives.

Abreu joins GS&P from AECOM, where he served as a senior project manager responsible for numerous wastewater treatment plant and wastewater pump station improvement projects related to the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department Consent Decree Program. The projects he managed ranged in costs from $3 million to $40 million. He was responsible for project implementation from scope definition to construction assistance, as well as the management of a design consultant.
 
A native Puerto Rican, Abreu is a founding member of the Instituto de Ingenieros Ambientales (IIAM), an organization that supports the development of future environmental engineers at the Puerto Rico Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors. He is also a member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation. Abreu is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering as well as a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering.
