Gresham, Smith and Partners is pleased to announce it has been selected for a three year task order-based contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT); the contract duration extends through August 2020. GS&P will provide technical, administrative and training support for the statewide MS4 stormwater management program. The firm will assist the DOT with maintaining compliance with Ohio EPA’s stormwater discharge requirements and will also allow ODOT to address its environmental commitments associated with these MS4 permit requirements.

Under the contract, GS&P will assist ODOT with program implementation, policy, procedures and best management practice development and revisions. Maintaining compliance with this MS4 permit allows ODOT to continue discharging stormwater runoff/discharge from their owner/operated storm sewer system statewide.

“We are pleased to support the DOT’s stormwater management program and help keep and maintain Ohio’s stormwater safe for discharge. Our team will utilize our deep understanding of environmental regulatory policy as we work with ODOT to address regulatory compliance and continue to advance ODOT’s commitment to the environment,” said Mark J. McCabe, CPESC, CESSWI, CMS4S, ENV SP, senior environmental scientist at Gresham, Smith and Partners.

GS&P has provided ODOT with stormwater management services since 2011. Through GS&P’s stormwater management program services, the firm has be able to translate this experience into additional opportunities that include development of BMP screening and selection tools and completing the second phase of a research project that provided replacement methods for 83,000 culverts statewide.

GS&P's Water + Environment team consists of experienced environmental engineers, designers, geologists, operational and regulatory specialists and scientists providing a wide range of water, wastewater, stormwater and environmental services. By staying abreast of the latest developments in technology, water quality and regulatory legislation, the team integrates environmental services with other in-house capabilities to maximize project delivery, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
