Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Kevin Linne, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior transportation engineer in the Alpharetta office. Linne has a 20-year background in roadway design and planning, having most recently spent eight years as the roadway design team manager for Hillsborough County Public Works Department in Florida. His diverse project experience includes major interstates, rural highways and arterials, and intersection improvements. At GS&P, he will provide project management leadership for Atlanta-area clients, helping to strengthen the firm’s transportation service offerings.

“Kevin’s time in Hillsborough County’s Public Works Department affords him valuable knowledge of municipal infrastructure and the most pressing issues affecting our clients and communities,” said Kent Black, P.E., executive vice president at Gresham, Smith and Partners. “He’s been on the other side of the table, leading in-house development and design for a variety of public works projects and collaborating with Departments of Transportation and consultants. I know his perspective will be beneficial to our employees and clients, and we are pleased to welcome him to the GS&P team.”

“I’ve been fortunate to devote my career to public projects,” commented Linne. “Transportation is an important and exciting field, because the work we do directly impacts safety, mobility and day-to-day life for our friends, family and neighbors. I enjoy collaborating with different groups to achieve a common goal and affect real change and progress in our communities, and I look forward to working hard for GS&P’s clients along with my colleagues in GS&P’s Transportation practice.”

Prior to his time at the Hillsborough County Public Works Department, Linne served as a project manager at HDR Engineering, Inc., in Tampa, Fla., and as a senior project engineer at Parsons Corporation in Carmel, Ind. He was a design engineer for the $1.2 billion T-Rex design-build project in Denver, Co., which included the reconstruction of 17 miles of two interstate highways, construction of 19 miles of new light rail transit (LRT) line, and 13 new LRT stations. Linne is also experienced in the design of sidewalks and trails, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, roadway maintenance repairs, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) studies and environmental impact statements (EIS). Outside of the office, he has served on the Board of Directors of the North Tampa Athletic Association. Linne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University.
