Gresham, Smith and Partners was proud to be part of a July 27 groundbreaking ceremony for Ramsey Solutions’ new GS&P-designed, 204,000-square-foot corporate headquarters and 15,000-square-foot connector in Franklin, Tenn. GS&P project leaders joined Ramsey Solutions Founder Dave Ramsey, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, city leaders, project partners and hundreds of Ramsey Solutions employees for the festivities. GS&P is providing architecture, interior design, civil engineering and structural engineering for the six-story facility, located on 47 acres in the Berry Farms development, which will also be the home of The Dave Ramsey Show. Construction is expected to complete in the summer of 2019.

“Working with Gresham, Smith and Partners has been absolutely incredible,” said Ramsey. “It’s been a large learning process for us, but with the right team in place, it makes a multi-million-dollar project run smoothly. We’re building a place where work gets done, and that work is called hope for the people that are not in the building.”

“We set out to create a budget-conscious and cost-efficient headquarters that is flexible and adaptable to meet the company’s future growth requirements,” commented Kelly Hodges, LEED AP, division vice president at Gresham, Smith and Partners. “By offering a broad range of settings for a variety of work styles, the space supports flexibility, connectivity and equality among team members. We also introduced many amenities that will help the company to attract and retain top talent, develop and promote their public personalities, and foster professional development. It’s been a great experience to work with the Ramsey Solutions team on this exciting space that honors the company’s commitment to fiscal responsibility.”

The headquarters and connector comprise the first phase of a multi-phase development. It also includes two studios and a variety of webinar, blackbox and podcast studios for the company’s broadcasts. The building is oriented toward I-65 to maximize visibility, and it features a stone tower with the Ramsey logo at the top. The design is inspired by early 20th century brick structures and maintains the classic aesthetic of neighboring buildings in Berry Farms, while introducing modern elements of metal and stone façade detailing. Interior features include open workstations that can accomodate more than 1,000 Ramsey Solutions employees, ample access to daylight, and numerous indoor and outdoor spaces for team gatherings, lunches and devotionals. The connector will include an 800+ seat auditorium space, a dining facility and full-service kitchen, as well as a coffee shop and bookstore for visitors. Future phases include two additional buildings totaling approximately 380,000-square-feet and a 50,000-square-foot conference center.

GS&P’s Corporate and Urban Design expertise has been honed with decades of project experience and continues to be a cornerstone service. The firm’s recent workplace projects include the award-winning 16-story 1100 Charlotte Avenue office tower and the new 16,000-square-foot Center for Medical Interoperability interior buildout, both in Nashville, Tenn.
