Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Renée Burnham, MBA, EDAC, senior data and research specialist in the firm’s Healthcare market, has been named to The Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Board of Examiners for the 2019 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The Baldrige Award is the nation’s highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence with up to 18 awards given annually across six eligibility categories: manufacturing, service, small business, education, health care, and nonprofit. Burnham will use her more than two decades of market research and operational experience to evaluate an award applicant as part of the recipient selection process.

“To be selected as an examiner is a high honor and a testament to Renée’s exceptional analytical skills and understanding of what drives improved performance and world-class results,” said Jim Langlois, AIA, LEED AP, executive vice president, Gresham Smith. “We are experiencing rapid disruption in the healthcare industry. Having a holistic framework like The Baldridge Process helps organizations take disciplined actions towards innovation and allows them to see how their initiatives stack up against others in the marketplace, helping drive forward progress.”

Appointed by the NIST director, Burnham joins more than 325 leading experts from across the United States on the Board. Prior to the review session, Burnham was invited to complete a nationally ranked leadership development course based on the Baldrige Excellence Framework and the scoring processes for the Baldrige Award.
