Saa Shemsu Joins Gresham Smith’s Water + Environment Team

Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Saa Shemsu has joined the firm’s Water + Environment market as a project executive. He will partner with the firm’s clients to deliver strategic, technology-driven water and wastewater solutions that keep communities healthy and resilient.

“Saa has experience as both a consultant and a client, which gives him a unique perspective on how we address present-day challenges while positioning communities for the future. Throughout his 20-year career, Shemsu has worked in a variety of design, construction and operations roles with local municipalities, state agencies, universities and consulting organizations. He joins Gresham Smith from Montgomery County Environmental Services where he oversaw water and sewer permitting, capital and private development inspection, and proactive asset management for water distribution and wastewater collection systems in the Dayton, Ohio area. He also managed capital improvement and repair and replacement projects at the County’s Western Regional Water Reclamation Facility and Eastern Regional Water Reclamation Facility.

Shemsu is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. A true history buff and lifelong learner, you’ll often find him listening to podcasts and audiobooks. Saa also enjoys playing soccer and learning Latin dance.
