Scott Herrick Joins Gresham Smith’s Experiential Design & Wayfinding Team

Gresham Smith is excited to welcome Scott Herrick, SEGD, as an Experiential Graphic Designer to the firm’s Experiential Design & Wayfinding department. Based in Gresham Smith’s Tampa, Florida office, Herrick will use his nearly 25 years of experience in communicative arts, branding strategies, master planning and signage design to support the firm’s signage and wayfinding work for major airports across the United States.

Prior to joining Gresham Smith, Herrick spent time as a graphic design studio director, brand design co-leader and senior project manager for a variety of companies and organizations. He was a pivotal member of teams that designed signage and wayfinding systems for many airports in the U.S. and abroad, including Minneapolis – Saint Paul International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport. He also contributed significantly to the signage, wayfinding and theming master plan for the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota and the Conoco – Phillips Headquarters.

“As airports are challenged to meet increased passenger demand, signage and wayfinding services are becoming an ever-more critical part of diligent, human-centered design,” said Director of Experiential Design Jim Harding, SEGD. “Scott’s design background, coupled with his experience working for major airports, make him well-suited to serve the full range of needs that our clients have, and I know he’ll be an asset to our firm.”

Well-represented graphic design can support ambitious architectural design and help passengers have a better overall travel experience.”

Herrick received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southwest Minnesota State University and his CAD Technician Training from Herzing University.

Prior to his design career, Herrick served in the Army National Guard for nine years. where he was a battery operations specialist and combat lifesaver. Now, in his free time, he enjoys competing in about a dozen Sports Car Club of America sanctioned road races every year.
