Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Scott S. Mounts, P.E., has joined the firm’s Water + Environment market as a senior environmental engineer. Mounts brings 28 years of diverse experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS) as both a consultant and corporate leader. His technical experience, commitment to team members and clients as well as his entrepreneurial spirit will help clients develop and implement tailored, sustainable multi-media environmental programs to enhance operations and remain compliant.

“Scott brings a unique perspective and passion for problem solving that allows him to address client needs holistically,” said Robert McGormley, senior vice president, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “He is a natural leader and supportive team member. Scott understands what success looks like for his clients and is dedicated to helping them and his team members succeed.”

Mounts’ depth and breadth of experience is evidenced by the myriad of industrial and manufacturing clients he has supported through compliance audits, regulatory negotiation, permitting, emissions inventories, contingency planning, waste management, EHS program development and implementation and training. He has partnered with all levels of organizations and recognizes that long-lasting EHS solutions are often cultural as well as technical.

“GS&P, as a multi-disciplinary and multi-market firm, provides diversity and opportunities for continued growth which is exciting to me. Throughout my career I have collaborated with engineers to design, permit and test emissions control devices, worked with attorneys in regulatory negotiations and teamed with production floor associates to help shape and gain their buy-in for EHS programs,” commented Mounts. “I look forward to applying my diverse experience and lessons learned in the industry to help our clients achieve compliance.”

Mounts joins GS&P from Zulily, where he built a collaborative safety program for the fulfillment center operations. He was previously the director of environmental, health and safety for North America at Greif. He started his career in soil/groundwater remediation as an environmental and safety engineer. Mounts earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.
