Gresham, Smith and Partners announces that Raymond Bishop has joined the firm as a senior environmental graphic designer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in wayfinding. An experienced, certified project manager and client counselor, Bishop has extensive planning and design background in aviation and transportation.

“Creating an exceptional wayfinding program is predicated on uncovering the challenges our clients and their passengers face. Ray’s rapport with clients enables him to gain deeper understanding and tailor solutions accordingly,” said James R. Harding, SEGD, director of environmental graphics, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “His ability to see the bigger picture and his strong project management result in smart, highly functional solutions for our clients.”

“First and foremost the wayfinding system has to work, backed by insight and sound logic. However, there is also room for creativity and innovation,” commented Bishop. “By combining function, insight, creativity and technology we deliver wayfinding strategies that meet client goals and budgets while ultimately enhancing the passenger experience.”

In addition to possessing deep knowledge about the aviation industry, Bishop has also been at the forefront of integrating technology and wayfinding. He has worked to create and implement strategies that meld technology – particularly the pre-education information available to passengers about the airports – with passengers’ experiences at the airport to enhance the overall customer experience.
