Senior Structural Engineer Laura Lewis Grows Gresham Smith’s Engineering Expertise in Florida

Gresham Smith is proud to announce that Laura Lewis, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior structural engineer in the firm’s Building Engineering market. She brings 23 years of experience designing and managing a variety of project types, and will use her expertise to continue enhancing the quality of engineering services Gresham Smith offers to clients and growing the firm’s portfolio in Florida.

Lewis joins Gresham Smith to lead the structural engineering team in Florida through the design process, from schematic design to construction administration. Her extensive portfolio includes projects in nearly every industry, including healthcare, commercial, higher education, government, and hospitality, and touts clients such as Orange County Convention Center and Orlando International Airport.

Outside of the office, Lewis has been active in a variety of industry organizations. She has served as Allied Director for The American Institute of Architects Orlando Chapter, on the Programs and Special Events Committees for NAIOP Central Florida, and the Programs Committee for Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Orlando. Additionally, Lewis serves on the Civil Engineering Department Advisory Board at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and serves as an ACE Mentor educating local high school students about structural engineering.

Lewis is a graduate of the University of Florida where she earned a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. She also earned a Master of Science in Structures and Foundations and a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
