Senior Transportation Engineer John Anthony Joins Gresham Smith in Birmingham

Gresham Smith announces that John J. Anthony, P.E., PTOE, has joined the firm as a senior transportation engineer in the Birmingham office. Anthony brings 20 years of experience in traffic engineering and operations, with a focus on traffic impact studies, traffic signal design/timing, intersection/corridor safety and operational analyses. His experience will strengthen and elevate Gresham Smith’s traffic engineering services for existing and future clients throughout Alabama and the Southeast.

Anthony owned and operated Traffic Solutions, LLC, in Birmingham for 11 years prior to joining Gresham Smith. He was also a traffic engineer for three years at a local Birmingham firm and the assistant district traffic operations engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 3. Additionally, Anthony is ISMA-certified as a Level 2 traffic signal technician and is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Outside of the office, he enjoys coaching youth soccer and basketball. After spending three years in the U.S. Army where he earned college tuition benefits via the Army G.I. Bill, Anthony graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
