Airports across the country face unique challenges when it comes to serving their communities, but many issues and opportunities transcend the industry, no matter the location. Enter the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). This industry-driven, applied research program is managed by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. The program convenes subject-matter experts to dig into these issues and opportunities facing the Aviation industry and provide research-based suggestions for future design and development projects. Over the years, our experts at Gresham Smith have proudly been called on to develop numerous ACRP projects that have provided guidance and helped airports navigate practical solutions, adapt new technologies and introduce innovations into their facilities and campuses.
