The city of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, is booming with development. Once known largely as a spring break destination, the city is now home to a strong center of commerce and growing population. The city of Ft. Lauderdale’s Downtown Master Plan aims for mixed-use growth, hoping to create spaces where residents can live, work and play close to home. With that development model in mind, Gresham Smith designed Cypress Creek Medical Pavilion, a multi-tenant medical center that offers an array of health and wellness-focused services in one convenient location.

A Focus on Health and Wellness

A Focus on Health and Wellness

The Cypress Creek Medical Pavilion was designed with the evolving healthcare landscape in mind. The building’s variety of providers will not only treat symptoms, but also help prevent them through wellness services. With standardized surgery center features and built-to-suit tenant spaces, Cypress Creek Medical Pavilion provides the adaptability and flexibility providers need to thrive today while preparing for the changes of tomorrow.
A Cost-Efficient Construction Process

A Cost-Efficient Construction Process

The entire building was constructed using the tilt-up process, a method that provides the strength and durability of reinforced concrete and can be built quickly and economically. The building’s low profile matches the surrounding area, while a contemporary exterior and modern entrance canopies make a statement.
An Efficient Layout

An Efficient Layout

The facility is anchored by a 16,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center, which features a registration areas, a pre-testing area, 18 pre-op and post-op bays and five operating rooms, as well as sterile processing and clean storage areas. Designed in a loop, the center’s operationally efficient layout keeps pre-surgery and post-surgery patients from crossing paths and gives caregivers maximum visibility from a centralized nurse station.
