When Belgium-based Dhollandia, the world’s largest producer of liftgates for trucks, sought a trusted partner to design its North American headquarters in Gaston County, North Carolina, they called on Gresham Smith to bring their vision to life. The 282,000-square-foot space will house a corporate workplace as well as a production facility, Dhollandia’s first in North America. While the spaces are separate, they are designed to complement each other, inspire collaboration and drive employee engagement.

Connecting the Office with Production
The design of the project balances efficient manufacturing space with a crisp, modern office area. It allows for sight lines from the office space into the manufacturing area, creating an open and collaborative work environment. Developed with an eye toward employee recruitment and retention, the open nature of the entire facility allows daylight to permeate throughout all of the work spaces. The facility also features a showroom for Dhollandia products and a flexible space where classes and events can be held for clients or the community.Project Contact
