Hendersonville, Tenn., located just 10 miles northeast of Nashville, is a city full of character and charm. From its miles of shoreline on Old Hickory Lake to the public parks for picnics and playdates, it’s the perfect place to put down roots. That’s why Freehold Communities decided to build Durham Farms.

Protecting the Views and Wetlands

Protecting the Views and Wetlands

Gresham Smith helped implement the subdivision’s master plan—which covers nearly 500 acres—and turned it into final construction drawings. However, our team of surveyors, civil engineers and land planners did more than just draft drawings—we combined our expertise to save time and money. For example, we reconfigured the neighborhood’s roadways to fit 12 more homes into the community and we rearranged lots while still keeping scenic views. We also designed a solution to protect the area’s existing wetlands and reestablish a former stream on the property.

The Perfect Place to Call Home

Although only minutes from nearby Nashville, the Durham Farms community offers all the best of small-town living. With more than 1,000 homes and amenities such as pools, a fitness center and walking trails, we’re proud to have helped create the perfect place to call home.
