HCA Virginia wanted to bring full-service emergency care closer to home, so to better serve the needs of Richmond-area residents, the health system elected to build a freestanding emergency department and imaging center in Virginia’s Hanover County. Centered on efficiency, technology and growth, Gresham Smith’s design highlights the center’s advanced diagnostic technologies and facilitates swift treatment within a logical, well-planned layout.

We designed the building’s all-brick exterior to complement surrounding residential and retail developments, while a covered entry and waiting area support the comfort of both patients and visitors. Shell space for a future MRI was also designed by Gresham Smith.
