To better serve the needs of Richmond-area residents, HCA Virginia Health System elected to build a freestanding emergency department and imaging center in Hanover County. Centered on efficiency, technology and growth, GS&P’s design highlights the center’s cutting-edge imaging equipment, and facilitates swift treatment with a logical and well-planned layout.

Conveniently located in the Rutland Common’s development, the full-service ED and imaging center provides around-the-clock adult and pediatric medical services. A department of Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, the state-of-the-art facility includes 12 patient-treatment areas, a nurse station, a medical lab, an on-site clinical pharmacy and an imaging center featuring a 64-slice CT, ultrasound, digital X-ray, 3-D mammography equipment and a bone density scanner. The building’s all-brick exterior was designed to complement surrounding residential and retail developments, while a covered entry and comfortable waiting area support the comfort of both patients and visitors. Shell space for a future MRI was also designed by GS&P.

The first freestanding emergency facility in Hanover County, Hanover Emergency Center serves both walk-in patients and those who arrive by ambulance, providing a rapidly growing community and its surrounding areas with the highest quality of care, 365 days a year.
