Due to severe pavement cracking and rutting, an absence of shoulder pavement, and multiple American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance issues, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) called on GS&P to provide roadway design services to make commuting safer for the Pensacola community.

GS&P’s design called for the resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation of 11-foot travel lanes and seven-foot outside shoulders along a 0.167-mile section of the highway from State Route 295 to north of Dewitt Road. The design also provided pedestrian signal upgrades to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Additionally, paved shoulders were added where none previously existed and driveways were reconstructed.

The final design addressed safety concerns and established ADA compliance, improving State Route 30 for Pensacola residents and visitors.
